Subject Options
As the GSIS facilitates its students to complete O’ Level in two years, three of the compulsory subjects Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Islamiat are available at the end of O level’s 1st year. In the 2nd year of O Level, a student has to do five subjects, including English and Mathematics and three optional subjects from any of the groups mentioned.
In this way a student has the chance to take either Advanced Maths or Computing as the ninth subject in the final year. Students of the Science group may opt for a subject from the general group in the last year of O’ Level.
GSIS offers an open choice of subjects for the A’ Level. A student must select any three subjects. No subject is compulsory for A’ Level. The GSIS counseling services, however, guide the students to select subjects which are relevant and supportive to each other. At this stage a student should be able to form a decision for his/her future career, and the subject choices must be made very carefully and thoughtfully. For this purpose, frequent meetings between the students, the counselors and the parents are arranged.
A variety of subjects are offered, while their availability depends upon the number of students opting for a particular subject.
